Bucket Drumming and Singing

Mrs Johnston very kindly organised for the Y3's to have some visitors to educate us on how music can be therapeutic, which relates to our Inquiry topic of Hauora. Room 33 started off with some singing and had a great time. We are looking forward to doing some bucket drumming in two weeks.  

Room 33's Junior Assembly

Room 33 had their Junior Assembly on Friday the 18th of October. All of the students did an amazing job in the preparation and performance.

The Year 3 classes were lucky enough to be invited to the Year 6 cultural concert. Room 33 were amazed by all the great dances, plays and musical items that were preformed. We were very impressed with the cultural art that was created and displayed. Room 33 could see all the hard work that had gone into the performances and art work.

Our Trip to Auckland Zoo

On Thursday 22nd of August, Room 33 visited Auckland Zoo as part of our Inquiry unit on Culture. We having been researching into endangered animals and looking at what different cultures are doing to try and save these animals. We had a very insightful lesson with the educators at Auckland Zoo. It was a fun day and we even experienced thunder and lightening.

School Cross Country

The Year 3's participated in the School Cross Country on Wednesday the 14th of August. It was very muddy but so much fun. Everyone tried their best and the teachers were so proud of all the students.

Paper Planes - Writing and Measurement

This week for Writing we are learning how to write instructions. This morning we made paper planes and recorded the instructions as we went. We are also integrating this into our Maths unit of measurement, where tomorrow we will measure the distance that our paper plane flies.
