In Support of Christchurch

Today we had a Mufti Day in support of Christchurch. The last count for our mufti day was at $1500.00. We also all gathered on the bottom field to have a minute silence and have our Kapa Haka sing and do the haka inside our MVS whole school heart.

A big welcome to all the children to Year 3 and Room 33. The students have settled quickly into new routines. As a homework task the students were asked to complete an "All about me" sheet. I was amazed at the quality of work that came back. The students have shared their work with the class and it is now collated on our classroom wall.

Paper Planes - Writing and Measurement

This week for Writing we are learning how to write instructions. This morning we made paper planes and recorded the instructions as we went. We are also integrating this into our Maths unit of measurement, where tomorrow we will measure the distance that our paper plane flies.
